King’s bakery was a down-to-earth small local bakery that is welcome by the neighbourhood. Yet due to itself being “too” down-to-earth”, people took it for granted and started to forget the long and important history of egg tarts symbolising a valuable craftsmanship.
Road Creation came in to assist by building a narrative to reinforce the history of egg tarts and the artistry behind such workmanship. By using illustrations, they have married the artistry of egg tarts into another art form. Storifying traditional skills further puts emphasis on its significance, which successfully made King’s bakery become the must-buy souvenir when visiting Hong Kong.
