
We have successfully transformed Picky Cafe into nothing like an ordinary cafe, as the Chinese word “挑” suggests, it could be a challenge, it could be an act of selection, and an exclamation showing character. We were involved in the menu design, product testing, food setting, operation flow and also the staff training. We introduced multi-sensory experience and tasting experiments into various aspects of the cafe: in their offerings, in the food art itself, and even the utensils and equipment. The enjoyment of coffee and chocolates could be like picking your perfume, it is not bound by the delicacy from the taste, it is a collection of all the sensory experiences. It involves the trial and error of finding the best flavour and aroma of your own taste and liking. Those who had a chance to try Picky Cafe’s tasting menu would surely make yourself a “picky” one indeed.
